Protect Your Ratings

Once you’ve obtained your ratings you need to protect it.  Your ratings are not guaranteed.  They could be taken away.  These are the things that could adversely impact your ratings that you should avoid.

-Attend scheduled medical re-examinations.

-Do not file deceptive claims.

-Avoid criminal activity.  If you’re sent to jail for 60 days or more due to a felony conviction you can lose your benefits.

-Provide updated medical evidence in a timely manner when required.

-Keep your ratings to yourself.  Sharing this information with others who might be envious of you receiving benefits could cause them to make false complaints about you to the VA.
