Scholarships
There are many scholarships available to veterans and their family members. Some scholarships are offered on a one-time basis while others cover full cost for a four-year degree. Some scholarship programs don’t allow you to take on other scholarships while others do. All scholarships have a submission deadline, so start looking at them now and apply before the deadline.
37th Division Veterans Association Scholarship
This scholarship is for veterans and descendants of veterans of the 37th Infantry Division (37th ID) in obtaining post-high school and advanced education.
506th Airborne Infantry Regiment Association Scholarship
Provides scholarships to veterans who served with the 506th Infantry and their family members. Scholarships range from $1,000 to $2,500.
AFA Scholarships
Air & Space Forces Association scholarships help fund college tuition, flight school, dental school, Arnold Air Society and Silver Wings, and even full rides to certain universities to veterans and their families. Provides $1,000-$10,000 in annual scholarships.
AFCEA War Veterans Scholarship
Offers a variety of scholarships to veterans and their family members that pays $2,500-$5,000 annually.
Allied Military Scholarship
Only offers two $1,000 scholarships annually to veterans and their dependents interested in the logistics/supply management field.
American Legion
Features a variety of scholarships that awards $1,000-$25,000 to veterans and their families.
American Legion Auxiliary
Offers several scholarships to military members and their families that range from $2,000-$5,000.
AMVETS Scholarship
Offers a few scholarships for veterans and their family that range from $4,000 to $12,000.
Army Nurse Corps
Provides funding in the amount of $3,000 to veterans and their family members.
Army Women’s Foundation Legacy Scholarship
Provides $2,500-$5,000 in tuition assistance for women undergraduate and graduate military vets.
Atmosfy Veteran Scholarship
Offers up to $1,000 to veterans and their family members.
Blinded Veterans Association
BVA’s Kathern F. Gruber scholarships are available to spouses, dependent children, and grandchildren of blind and low vision veterans to assist them with their higher education tuition. It awards up to $2,000 once, but you can reapply up to four times.
Chief Petty Officer Scholarship Fund
This scholarship provides educational opportunities for qualified family members of United States Navy Chief Petty Officers. Scholarship ranges from $2,000 to $5,000.

Doctors Network Heros Scholarship
Provides $1,000-$2,000 scholarships to veterans and family members.
Dolphin Scholarship Fund
Provided each year to unmarried children or stepchildren of the US Navy Submarine Force. Children must be under the age of 24 and considered dependent to active duty members of the Navy. It pays $2,600-$4,000 annually.
Edith Nourse Rogers STEM Scholarship
Scholarship allows eligible Veterans using the Post-9/11 GI Bill or dependents using the Fry Scholarship to get added benefits. This scholarship provides up to 9 months (or $30,000) of benefits for training in high-demand fields.
Edward T. and Mary A. Conroy Memorial Scholarship
Provides scholarship to veterans and their family member. Covers tuition and fees. It is not based on needs.
Fisher House
This scholarship offers $2,000 each school year to military family members.
Folds of Honor
Provides up to $2,500 in scholarship to veterans and their family members.
FRA Scholarship
Provides up to $5,000 in scholarship to veterans of the U.S. Navy, Marine Corps or Coast Guard and their family members.
Frederick C. Branch Scholarship Program
This Naval Reserve Officers Training Corps (NROTC) scholarship program pays for Navy ROTC schooling which results in being commissioned as an officer in the Navy.
Freedom Alliance
The Freedom Alliance Scholarship fund is for the children of military personnel who have been killed or have been deemed 100% totally and permanently disabled from a combat mission or training accident. The Scholarship is not a full ride. It covers a portion of a student’s tuition and expenses. The specific amount will depend on each individual student’s need.
Google SVA Scholarship
The scholarship provides assistance to student veterans who are pursuing university degrees in the field of computer science in the U.S. Selected students will receive $10,000 for the upcoming school year.
Grand Canyon University (GCU)
Active Duty, reserve, National Guard members and their spouses may be eligible for a special military cost per credit hour (after scholarship is applied) in our GCU online and evening programs. In addition, GCU waives the Learning Management System fee and Canyon Connect fee for these students.
Green Beret Foundation
Support for Special Forces and their families. Scholarships, transition assistance and VA disability claims assistance.
Hero’s Legacy Scholarship
This scholarship covers all costs. Dependent unmarried children under age 23 of active-duty personnel, Reserve/Guard, retired service members and disabled service members or survivors of service members who died while on active duty may apply. This is a 4-year scholarship.
Hope for the Warriors Spouse/Caregiver Scholarship
This scholarship is for the spouses of disabled post-9/11 service members that have sustained a combat injury or are 100% VA rated disabled. The average scholarship awards are $2,500.
Hotel Planner Graduate Technology Scholarship
Provides up to $2,000 annually (with re-application) to veterans and their family members to pursue an undergraduate or graduate degree in technology.
Imagine America’s Military Award Program
This scholarship is for military service members to receive career education and make the transition from military to civilian life. It pays $1,000.
Joanne Holbrook Patton Military Spouse Scholarship
This scholarship is spouses of military personnel of all branches. It pay for everything from GED’s to PhD’s, professional licenses and certifications, including re-licensure, business and entrepreneurial expenses, supervised clinical hours, continuing education courses, and more.
Kansas Military Service Scholarship
Pays tuition and fees for veterans. You may also receive monthly allowance and book stipend.
Liberty University
Liberty University offers reduced tuition fees to veterans and their family.
Military Officers Association of America (MOAA)
The MOAA provides interest free loans to veterans and their family members.
My CAA Scholarship
The My Career Advancement Account Scholarship awards only pay for tuition for credentials, certificates, or associate degrees. Or, to pursue a recognized license or industry certification to military spouses. Certificates and credentials may be for post graduate work also. Provides up to $4,000 in assistance.
Navy & Marine Corps Relief Society
The NMCRS Education Assistance Program is designed to help eligible Navy and Marine Corps families pursue their academic goals by providing scholarships and interest-free loans. Scholarships range from $500-$3,000.
NMCCG Enlisted Dependent Spouse Scholarship
It annually awards 9 scholarships in the amount of $1,000 to $1500. To be eligible for a scholarship, an applicant must be the child, grandchild, great-grandchild, or spouse of an enlisted (E1-E9) member of the Navy, Marine Corps, or Coast Guard, active duty, retired, widow or widower.
New York State Scholarships

Paralyzed Veterans of America
Paralyzed Veterans of America offers scholarships to PVA members and their immediate family members in the amount of $2,500 to full-time students and $1,000 to part-time students.
Pat Tillman Scholarship
The Pat Tillman Scholarship was created to award annual funds to active service members of all branches of the U.S. military, as well as veterans and spouses. The scholarship is available for undergraduate, graduate, and post-graduate degrees. This scholarship awards an average of $10,000 per academic year.
Patriot Legacy Fund Scholarships
Offers a variety of scholarships with varying requirements for veterans and their family members.

The Helping Heroes Grant
This grant is awarded to US veterans who were honorably discharged or who are a former or current member of a reserve or TN National Guard unit. The award amount is $1,000 per semester for a student who enrolls in 12 or more semester hours in an eligible program of study. The award amount is $500 per semester for enrollment in six to 11 semester hours.
The My Career Advancement Account Scholarship
A workforce development program that provides up to $4,000 in financial assistance to eligible military spouses for the pursuit or maintenance (including continuing education courses) of a license, certification, or associate’s degree necessary to gain employment in an occupation or career field.
The Purple Heart Scholarship Program
awards scholarships to Purple Heart recipients and their spouses, children, and grandchildren each year. It awards up to $3,000 in scholarships.
The Screaming Eagle Foundation Scholarship
Provides scholarship to 101st Airborne Division Association members and their family.
The Screaming Eagle Surviving Children’s Scholarship
It awards up to $2,500 in scholarship to veterans who were assigned to the 101st Airborne Division, Air Assault or one of the tenant military organizations assigned to Fort Campbell, Kentucky, with exception of U.S. Army Special Operations Command units, who were killed, wounded or injured while serving in the 101st Airborne Division or other qualifying unit while in support of the Global War on Terrorism on or after September 11, 2001.
University of Arkansas Grantham Program
This program offers veterans and their family members reduced tuition fees and other benefits.
USAWOA Scholarship
The United States Army Warrant Officers Association Scholarship Foundation award scholarships to veterans and their families who are in good standing with the USAWOA in the amount of $500-$1,500.
VAIC Scholarship Program
The Veterans of the Afghanistan and Iraq Conflicts Scholarship Program is designed to provide financial assistance to Afghanistan and Iraq veterans and their families. It Provides up to $19,000 in funding.
VFW’s Sport Clips Help A Hero Scholarship
This scholarship offers up to $5,000 annually to veterans and their family members.
Wings Over America Foundation Scholarship
This scholarship is to further the postsecondary education of Navy dependents from the aviation community. Most scholarships are $5,000 and some are renewable.
WMA Sholarship
This scholarship is for Marine Corps veterans and their family members. It awards scholarships in the range of $500 to $5000.
Yellow Ribbon Program
The Yellow Ribbon Program can help you pay for higher out-of-state, private school, foreign school, or graduate school tuition and fees that the Post-9/11 GI Bill doesn’t cover. You must qualify for the Post-9/11 GI Bill at the 100% benefit level
